SoulFire’s sound is also inspired by soul, reggae, and jazz-rock, as well as the rich influences of artists such as The Crusaders, Nina Simone, Herbie Hancock, and Herbie Mann. Built around infectious and uplifting grooves, an evening with SoulFire may also find the band taking a deep dive into an instrumental from the latter-day horn-driven Paul Butterfield Blues Band or exploring tunes by Donovan and Peter Gabriel that have been arranged with a unique SoulFire spin.
