A self-made artist and risk-taker, Dawson built his career the hard way, by learning every part of it himself. Known for sharp songwriting and a magnetic live presence, he has packed rooms across Canada, earned more than 7 million worldwide streams, and shared stages with ERNEST, Dasha, Cameron Whitcomb, Jordan Davis, and James Barker Band.
Music wasn’t the original plan. Dawson was chasing a professional baseball career until an unexpected eye disorder ended it. What started as a way to fill that void turned into something bigger. In 2021, he was busking the streets of downtown Kelowna. Busking turned into paid gigs, paid gigs turned into headline shows, and by 2023 he walked away from his post-grad job to go all in on music.
The momentum hasn’t stopped since. Singles like “Friends With The Bar Staff” and “Chevy Back” landed Apple Music cover placements, while “Back To Leaving” crossed the 1-million stream mark. His debut EP, Chevy Back, launched a 23-date Canadian tour and led to opening dates with Nashville standout Dasha on her Welcome to Dashville Tour.
Dawson kicked off 2026 with the release of “When We Die,” signaling a new chapter and a broader sound. With rising demand on the live circuit, growing streaming numbers, and a constant push to evolve, Dawson Gray is proving he’s not just part of country music’s future. He’s shaping it.
