Chicago-born trumpet powerhouse Boney Fields brings a hard-driving blend of funk, blues, and soul to the stage - the kind of music Prince once described as “real music by real musicians.”
Fields comes from a deep musical lineage. Over the years he has shared stages and studios with legends including Buddy Guy, James Cotton, Albert Collins, Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley, and Bootsy Collins. Along the way he also worked with blues icons such as Luther Allison and Lucky Peterson, earning a reputation as one of the most dynamic trumpet players on the international blues and funk circuit.
Growing up in Chicago, Fields was surrounded by both the pull of the streets and the powerful influence of gospel music at home. Music became his path forward. With trumpet in hand and a powerful voice to match, he built a career performing around the world, writing sophisticated horn arrangements in the tradition of bands like Tower of Power and Earth, Wind & Fire, and developing a distinctive sound that blends deep blues roots with explosive brass-driven funk.
But the stage is where Boney Fields truly comes alive.
Leading his high-powered band, Fields delivers a retro-futuristic groove that mixes Chicago blues grit with the punch of classic funk horn sections. The result is a tight, high-energy show built for live audiences.
